Entrenar o tomar clases: ¿sólo una cuestión de palabras?

Desde hace muchos años, elijo la palabra "entrenar o practicar" para nombrar los talleres que dirijo, intentando definir de antemano, una forma de encuentro comunicativo.
Sabemos que, muchas veces, tanto los organizadores como los participantes de una clase de tango buscan "entretenimiento". En los encuentros que yo organizo, eso no es lo primordial.
Por lo contrario, lo que aparece como fundamental es el compromiso con la búsqueda, el hacerse cargo del proceso de aprendizaje. Desafiar paradigmas, límites y hábitos, es parte de la propuesta. Y esto no sucede justamente en la aparente comodidad de la dispersión, sino que requiere de mucho esfuerzo y dedicación (entre otras cosas).

Darle vueltas al asunto, repensar-se y construir a través de ese ejercicio: sino sucede esa interacción, si eso no es lo que "entretetiene", no es posible el proceso que propongo en mis entrenamientos.
Y no pasa nada malo con eso, simplemente no con todos podemos interactuar en lo íntimo del proceso, tan simple como suena.
Estos encuentros los construimos juntos. Y para todo lo demás, hay otros tipo de propuestas y clases de tango, en todo el mundo, muchísimas.

To train or to take lessons: a matter of words?

For many years, I have chosen the word "train or practice" to name the workshops that I lead, trying to define in advance, a form of a communication experience.
We know that many times, both the organizer and the participant of a tango class, seek for "entertainment". In the meetings that I organize, this is not the main thing.
On the contrary, the commitment to investigate and willingness to take responsibility for the learning process, is fundamental.
Challenging paradigms, limits and habits are part of the proposal. And this does not happen precisely in the comfort of dispersion, but requires a lot of effort and dedication (among other things).

Take an in-depth look at the matter we are studying, rethink and build our dance through the exercise: if this interaction does not occur, if that is not what "entertains", the process that I propose in my workouts is not possible. And nothing bad happens, just not with everyone we can interact in the intimacy of the process, as simple as it sounds.
We create these meetings together. And for everything else, there are other types of tango classes and proposals, all over the world, so many!
