RESPONDING vs. REACTING. The in-between.  

How can we respond instead of simply reacting?
If we only connect at the moment of the impulse, we end up reacting because it’s already too late.
Bringing both roles to life: the one initiating the impulse and the one continuing it.
If I lead, I lead from within. If I follow, I follow from within.

Full presence is trained and designed.  

Muscle tone: using the full range, recognizing the range of tensions.
By modifying our physicality, we also modify our sensations.

Spirals.  Dissociate and spiral.

Spirals happen within my body, even if I don’t move.
Finding my own spiral within the spiral of the other.
The other person’s body shapes my “hold” (embrace).

If we think about the ‘magic formula’ (hand-dorsal + foot-ischium), the concept of FOLDING emerges: folding elbows and knees.
In pivots, we generate an impulse in one direction to move in the other.

We put these concepts into practice and brought them to light through a short sequence with a stop.  We drew the leg that comes FROM BEHIND, spiraled and expansive.
